A 50% tax credit on your garden maintenance
If you pay tax in France, routine garden maintenance carried out by LGB Paysage qualifies for a 50% tax credit under the French home-services scheme ("services à la personne", article 199 sexdecies of the French tax code): a mowing session, hedge trim or weeding job invoiced at €100 really only costs you €50. The scheme applies to every French taxpayer, whether or not they are liable for tax, for a main home or a second home in France.
Costs are capped at €5,000 per year per tax household, for up to €2,500 back every year. We provide the tax certificate — the paperwork comes down to filling in one box on your tax return.

Frequently asked questions
Who can claim the garden maintenance tax credit?
Anyone who pays tax in France, for services carried out at their main or second home. It is a tax credit: even if you are not liable for tax, you are refunded 50% of the eligible amount.
What is the cap on the tax credit for small gardening jobs?
Small gardening expenses are capped at €5,000 per year per tax household, for a maximum benefit of €2,500 a year.
Are garden creation or tree felling eligible?
No. Only routine garden maintenance (mowing, hedge trimming, weeding, brush clearing…) is eligible under the French "services à la personne" home-services scheme. Garden creation, groundworks, tree felling and fencing installation are not included.
How do I declare these expenses on my tax return?
We provide a tax certificate every year. You enter the amount of eligible expenses in box 7DB of your French income tax return; the tax authority calculates the 50% credit automatically.
Does the tax credit apply to annual maintenance contracts?
Yes. Routine maintenance services invoiced under an annual contract are eligible, under the same conditions and limits as one-off visits.
