How does the 50% tax credit work? +
Routine maintenance work carried out at home for private clients qualifies for a tax credit of 50% of the sums paid, within the limits set by law.
Do you offer contracts for businesses and residential communities? +
Yes, we draw up bespoke maintenance contracts for professionals, managing agents and landlords.
When should a hedge be trimmed in the Gironde? +
Twice a year: a structural cut in late winter (February to mid-March) and a maintenance trim from late August to October. Between 15 March and 31 July we avoid trimming hedges so as not to disturb nesting birds, as recommended by the French biodiversity agency (OFB): that calendar is only compulsory for farmers, but destroying the nest of a protected bird is illegal all year round. Flowering hedges are cut just after they bloom, and we do not work during heatwaves.
How far from the boundary can a hedge be planted? +
Unless a local rule says otherwise (planning regulations, estate covenants, established custom), the French Civil Code requires a setback of 50 cm for a hedge kept to a maximum height of 2 m, and 2 m beyond that height. A neighbour may demand that the hedge be cut back to the legal height. We check these rules before planting and choose species suited to the clay soils of the area.
