The échoppe bordelaise: complete garden design & build for an urban garden
Transforming a bare town garden into a haven around the pool: bamboo palisades, exotic timber decking, rolled turf, garden lighting and automatic irrigation — a calm atmosphere within a constrained urban setting.

The brief
Originally, this town garden was little more than a bare, unstructured space: no planting, untreated boundaries, no clear circulation.
The challenge: to create an intimate, coherent and easy-to-maintain garden, organised around the pool, whilst maximising the sense of space.
Our response
The project showcases the pool with restraint, without overloading it: bamboo palisades for 'natural' boundaries, exotic timber decking designed as a continuous base around the pool, and a dense yet controlled planting palette playing on heights and textures.
The project included fitting the palisades, the timber decking, lighting, planting, rolled turf, edging and mulching, and automatic irrigation to ensure the plants' longevity. The pool is fully integrated into the landscape, right in the heart of the city.
