Château Gassies: restoration of a heritage parkland

The brief

The château's parkland presented a vast open space marked by a loss of structure and legibility: undefined circulation routes, and surroundings to the building with no landscaping treatment worthy of the architecture and history of the place.

The challenge: to restore a clear, hierarchised composition, whilst respecting the heritage character of the site.

Our response

The project was conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of a classically inspired garden: strong visual axes, clear perspectives and legible planting sequences. The circulation routes were redesigned with stabilised, paved pathways, structured by discreet edging.

Carefully executed lawn areas, a central fountain as a focal point, and a sober planting palette suited to the heritage context. Automatic irrigation and discreet garden lighting ensure the longevity of the design and enhance the perspectives at nightfall.
